No More Big Gulps – Just the Next Step in Government Telling Us How to Live

Businesses are no longer allowed to sell extra large sodas!  Why?  It’s for our own good; yes the government again telling its citizens that it knows better.  Isn’t America known for the government OF the people; in other words, the people in America tell the government what is best.

James Madison one of the three main men responsible for the writing the Constitution said that the future of American civilization rested on the ability of American’s to govern themselves, NOT on the power of the government.  So how is it that in the last 75 years we have reversed the meaning of our Constitution to the relying on the power of the government rather than the ability to govern ourselves?

Simple; Education!!  We have allowed the government to secede from teaching the basics and insert a social agenda.  We no longer teach the importance of reading, research or thinking for ourselves… OH we talk about it when we are on the campaign or speaking to the public; however behind the scenes the importance simply does not exist.  If you look hard enough you will see.

But that is the problem; we do not teach anyone to “look hard enough.”  Instead of teaching children to think FOR themselves, we teach them to think OF themselves.

Rather than self-control we hand out condoms and advise students they do not have the ability to refrain from sex.  Discipline is replaced with excuses for despicable behavior.  Blaming others has taken the place of responsibility and accountability.  God has been replaced with secular humanism.

Our political system has become so corrupt because WE do not research out our leaders and determine the truth about them.  We listen, watch and read what others have to say, exactly what John Dewey desired.

We have the country we have today because we allowed a socialist to determine how we educate our children.  We have a corrupt government because of how we educate our children.  So it stands, that to fix a corrupt

About Jim Blockey

Teacher in the Clark County School District for 20 years. Author of "Teachers... It Ain't Your Fault." Terminated from the school district the same week the book was published. A very Conservative Christian that stood up to the system for my beliefs. I believe that there is nothing more important than education in America... if we continue on this trek we will one day lose our freedoms and our capitalistic society.
