I have been told in a LinkedIn blog by a history teacher that history changes? She said, “Do you really think that Historical documentation and interpretation of events is 100% correct? Much of Historical documentation reads more like literature. That is a very inept way of looking at the content.” She also said, “History is constantly being updated.”
After blogging for a while I realized that she really believed that people who did not live the history were more credible than those that actually lived it. “Whose perspective is correct about an event? Depends on who publishes the book; by that I mean author and/or country. I make my students very aware of this. I’m sorry but History will never be black and white. That’s my degreed field.” Do you ever wonder why America’s children have no clue about what miraculous things our Founding Fathers did?
This is one of the instances where it IS the teachers’ fault; when they do not know their subject area and worse, when they make it up as they go along. To use reasoning like our historical documentation reads more like literature is ludicrous; and to say that is an inept way of looking at the content is simply how individuals who hate America rationalize revising history. It amazes me how so many of us are manipulated by these smooth talking fools who have the audacity to dispute the writings of an historian that actually lived what he wrote.
These are the same kinds of people that have attempted to declare that the Holocaust never happened. Can you imagine our world in 50 years if this kind revisionism continues to take place? No one will be sure about the Holocaust; 9-11 was an attack planned by American’s; and Al Gore will have invented the internet. Look at the history that has already been rewritten:
- People believe that the “Separation of Church and State” was actually written in the Constitution.
- American’s believe our Founding Fathers wanted America free from Christianity.
- Individuals believe that the First Amendment was to protect pornography and to protect us from Christianity.
- We actually believe that the founders believe the Constitution forbids the Bible in our schools and any government agency.
These are merely a few of the historical lies American’s have had shoved down their throats for years. The truth is that the term “Separation of Church and State” is nowhere to be found in the Declaration; nowhere in the Bill of Rights; nowhere in the Constitution; nowhere in the Federalist Papers. It was in a letter to the Danbury Baptists from Thomas Jefferson assuring them that the STATE would stay out of the CHURCHES business… not the other way around.
Our Founding Fathers not only did not want America free from Christianity, they all believed that our country would not exist without it and the Constitution would be misused void of Biblical morals. John Adams said, “Our Constitution is made only for a religious and moral people; it is wholly inadequate for the use of any other.” In 1844 the Supreme Court of the United States declared America as a Christian Country.
I do not think I even need to comment on the pornography aspect.
Our founders believed the Bible should not only be IN schools and government places, they believed it should be USED and adhered to. Noah Webster said, “Education without the Bible is useless.” WOW!!! How that statement has come to fruition; education has almost come to the point of being useless. George Washington’s farewell address to the country was all about morality and the Bible, “Reason and experience both forbid us to believe we can have a national morality without religious principal.”
Now we have those historical revisionists disputing these writings, declaring they have new information disputing the facts. What is essential for us to remember is that in order for our enemies to have the ability to change the Constitution they must first discredit or diminish the importance of the writers of it – our Founding Fathers. How many of our children do not know who the founders are or what they did; and those that do - know them know them as racists, womanizers, drunkards and worse.
Our founders had many faults, as do most American’s, however racism was not one of them; they were appalled at slavery and attempted to abolish it many times; look THAT up on Google. Even if there existed some off the wall writings about the faults of our founders, I do not believe our children need be made aware of them any more then they need to be made aware of the faults of their parents, teachers or leaders. They will have plenty of time to learn the negatives of our world as they grow up.
If America is to retain its strength, we must teach our children what America is all about; how and why it was created; and the greatness of those who were brave enough to ensure it thrived. Do not EVER forget that of the 56 “rich” signers of the Constitution, 54 of them died in poverty and on the run.

I would think the most important thing history teachers need to get across is that “history” is written by people (generally the winners), and like a news story can be told in different ways, all seemingly supported by “facts”. There is blatant revisionism, but there are also updates to “history” as new documentation is found. A great case is the effect on the history of the WWII period when a wealth of information was released by the old Soviet nations. I don’t think teaching kids to ask for the source is a bad idea.

Utter rubbish mate. You misrepresented what the historian said and the other basic facts about the founding fathers and their writings.
